Tillington is a village and civil parish in the District of Chichester in West Sussex, England located one mile west of Petworth on the A272. The parish includes the hamlets of Upperton, River, and River Common.
Tillington cricket ground on the southern edge of Upperton has fine views of the South Downs. There is a modern sports pavilion and adjoining hard tennis courts and children's play area. Just north of the church and pub Tillington Village Hall is a well equipped venue for meetings, indoor activities and parties. The Parish of Tillington, lying beneath the South Downs in West Sussex. includes the village of Tillington and the hamlets of Upperton and River, altogether a population of some 550 people. Tillington stands on a hill above the A272 between Midhurst and Petworth. To the south the village overlooks the Rother Valley and to the South Downs beyond. To the east it borders Petworth Park, the home of Lord Egremont and his family. All Hallows Church is renowned throughout the region for the Scots Crown surmounting the tower.

Petworth is a Medieval market town set within the pretty countryside and still holds on to its past with winding lanes and historical buildings. One such famous building is Petworth House, a 17th Century mansion set within stunning and beautiful Deer Parks designed by Capability Brown and lies just north of the South Downs. It has a good range of shops for everyday needs and good primary and middle schools, three churches, tennis court, bowling green, cricket and football pitches. Golf is at Goodwood, Cowdray and an 18 hole course two miles north of Petworth.
